Welcome to 4th grade! I am so excited to beginning my second year at Wolford Elementary This is the start of my 19th year of teaching. I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Development and a Masters in the Art of Teaching. After that I taught for 13 years in Oregon (1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades). Then I met my now husband and moved to Texas where he is a genetics and molecular biology professor at Austin College. I taught in Plano for 4 years prior to joining the Wolford community (2nd and 4th grades).
My family and I live in Anna, just north of McKinney. I have a 3 year old boy named David Leo. He keeps me VERY busy. My husband and I are learning all the joys of having a little one running around. We also have a black lab named Dixie. She is the best dog a little boy could ever have. She lets him crawl ALL over her. When I am not at school I enjoy traveling and spending time with family. I used to spend a lot of time reading but as most of you with little ones remember it is hard to find time to sit and read a book alone. Most of my family still lives in Oregon so I travel there as often as I can. Don't be surprised if your students come home with lots of random facts about Oregon. I like to share fun stories now and then. I am most excited to be teaching math this year. I LOVE math and believe all of us have an inner mathematician just waiting to shine. I look forward to spreading that same excitement to your students. |
